Living The Gospel Can Lead To Happiness

Hello There!

How has your week been? I really do appreciate the love and support that you give. Honestly, it has been a struggle to stay motivated when you feel like you do the same thing, over, and over, and over again. But! I am grateful for the opportunity I had to fast this Sunday with my mission president and companion to feel the peace and love that can come from my Savior. Without Him, I am nothing. With Him, I can be everything and more! How great is the love He has for each of us, and also for all the people here on earth. And how great is our duty and devotion to serve them and to teach them about Christ. How great is our calling!

Well this week was pretty freakin’ awesome though. Particularly in the little things I am learning to focus on little miracles throughout the day because I have come to realize that God works simply and quietly and often through different means than what we would normally expect.

We met with the most incredible woman named Deborah. She is sooo ready to learn more about Jesus Christ and to build upon what she already knows to be true. She has a lot of family who are members of the Church and she is looking for something to unite herself with. Something where she knows that it’s true. She has been to several different churches just looking and searching. This week though we were able to meet with her twice and teach her about how God loves all of His children, and how He calls prophets to teach and to provide ordinances such as baptism with proper priesthood authority. We then talked about Joseph Smith the second time that we met with her, and we asked her how she felt as we were talking about it and she felt a warm peace fill her heart that it was true. What an incredible experience we had. And what made this week even better is that she came to Church with us and we sat up on the front row! AND! She is coming to the ward BBQ today! AND!! We are meeting with her again tomorrow! This is super exciting! I am so happy to be sharing with someone what has brought me and my family happiness!!!

Just last night as well, we were called by someone who wanted to meet with the missionaries. He used to meet with them in Nevada and California, but then he moved here and didn’t know where to go to find them. So he called the Church building number in the phone book, no response, he actually came to the Church but no one was here, then some how he got our number and we met with him and he was so happy to see us. He really would like to come to Church and for us to help him find some church clothes for him and his wife to wear. He has already read the Book of Mormon and would like to read anything else we can give him. I am really excited to be working with him, actually we are meeting with him later tonight. My only question is though, he has meet with 7 other missionary companionships, and yet he still hasn’t committed to anything quite yet, so I hope that we will be able to work through any concerns that he may have and help him find what he is looking for.

Thank you again for everything that you do! It means so much to have people rooting you on and encouraging you to keep going even when the going gets tough. I hope you have an awesome week!
