Project 5 Logos

AdamHarper-P5Logos

  • Description: This is a logo that I designed for my graphic design portfolio and business. When this project came about I was very excited to be able to rebrand my graphic design business and my abilities to create pleasing designs for all to see.
  • Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): The program I used for this was strictly Adobe Illustrator. I used different shapes to create the triangles and the rectangles. The text I found different fonts using the Adobe Typekit set that would be pleasing and eye catching. I planned out, after doing a lot of visual research and sketches, what I wanted my logo to be and I felt inspired that I should create this logo after many, many many rough sketches.
  • Message: The message I am trying to convey is the fact that I am a graphic designer who is sharp and preciese in his designs. The pencil and the triangle are supposed to resemble the letter A which is in conjuncture with my first initial. I planned on being bold and affirmative with my design in my desire to attract future clients.
  • Audience: My audience I am targeting is the younger more youth driven audience that want clean and modern designs that they can count on. I am looking for people who need a sharp cutting edge design that will help them in turn gain future clients. I want people to know that they can come to me with anything they need and that I can deliever for them no matter what outlandish idea they may have.
  • Top Thing Learned: I learned how to really simplify in this project. The more simple of a design you have the better, but often times over simplifiying can also cause problems and so you have to find the balance. When you have a clean cut design you are more likely to attract others and entice them to work with you. It’s all about good design and good marketing.
  • Color Scheme and Color Names: My color scheme is a complimentary scheme with blue and orange color tones.
  • Title / Body Font Names & Categories: Blenny Black – Decorative, Open Sans – Sans Serif

  1. I like that your design is very straightforward in what it is advertising. The pencil within the triangle really connect well together and manage to keep the design simple. Which is something that is desired in the logo project. Good job.

  2. I really liked your logo!
I think the alignment is great, the color scheme makes it pop out and look professional and, as a whole, the logo gives a clear message.
I also liked the fonts you used; especially the one you used for the title, it makes the title pop out and it also gives a fun vibe to the design.
I hope you can check out my logo if you have time :)

  3. Adam,
This is a great design, I love the simplicity it has as a logo should. I like how you used different hues of orange in your pencil, helping to create a lighting effect. The background triangle is a good use of repetition of the tip of the pencil point. Also a very good job on the tip of the pencil, demonstrating lighting from the left of the image. very good touch instead of making it just straight black.
